Children modeling

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Many parents induce their children to improve certain abilities. Some parents want their children to learn to play violin or piano, some parents wishes their babies to be the best athletes. What occupation to try if your child is cute, charming, expressive and talented in every way? Maybe, he or she can be a great child model? The happiest moment for all the parents is when they hear how great their children are. And what can get your baby more attention than posing for an advertisement or a role in a commercial? This is the good side of child modeling, but there are several things that both parents and children have to consider before taking chances in this field.

First of all: are you sure your child wants to be a top model? Remember that children have their own dreams and desires. What looks a great opportunity for grown-up can be boring or even repulsive activity for a child. Talk to your children before sending their pictures to child modeling agency. Even if your little angel can’t wait to start a career, you should explain him or her that modeling is fun, but also difficult job to do. A child might have less time for sleep or play with friends. Traveling is great for children to see new places, meet new people and learn new things. But you also need to know, that because of traveling you child may have to skip school. Parents need to explain that a child will need to catch up with the class later and the big pressure in school is not good for one. Basically, by starting a career at junior age, children are forced to mature quickly while they should have their time. Don’t push your baby into modeling, if he or she is not interested. A childhood is once in a lifetime; let your children enjoy it!

There are many modeling agencies that will be glad to represent your child. There are many jobs for child model to do: commercials, prints, movies and a lot of others, so there’s great demand on children in modeling business. No matter how warm-hearted and professional looking people work in

a modeling agency, check if it’s reputable before you sign an agreement. If they ask you to pay in advance, you can be sure it’s scam. A regular agency earns money by taking about 20 percent of your children payment. Children change too fast to make expensive pictures for their portfolio. If an agency requires you to pay for building precious portfolio, it’s better to try another agency. Many agencies put children photos and videos online for all possible employers to see. Always check what websites contain your child information and make sure that they have nothing to do with sexual arousal. There are too many freaks these days to trust everyone. If you are aware of all the things mentioned above and nothing can stop your child from being the new star, you need to know where to start. Every modeling agency or talent agent will ask you to bring some pictures of your child. You need to have at least three printed photos: a headshot, a headshot with happy smile and a full length shot. You don’t have to hire a professional photographer to do this job; you can make these shots by yourself with any regular camera. Agencies expect to see an expressive child, so you can also make several additional shots while your child pretends to be surprised or dreamy. Most of children love to make funny expressions and they can get used to certain role easily. However not every one can relax when he or she notices a camera around. You can help your child to get used to posing for professionals by asking him or her to pose for you. Acting or dancing lessons can also help your child to improve certain abilities and feel more self-confident, but you

optional. Parents are usually welcome to accompany children, but the child shouldn’t be shy without the parents around him. He or she should be brave and communicative to work in modeling industry. If your child turns shy when meeting strangers, maybe you should think of other free time activities.

Parents support and advices are very important on everything children do. You should be the one the child comes to talk and complain. Children need to know that they can’t be the best at all fields. If some company told your child that he is not suitable for them, you need to explain that it doesn’t mean he or she is not suitable for modeling at all. Starting a model career in a junior age can give your child a big advantage later. A lot of well know actors and models started their way to fame on early childhood. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lindsay Lohan, Jim Carrey, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsens are only a few celebrities to mention. However childhood should be carefree and funny time of one’s life, not strict and hard routine to follow. Don’t push your children into modeling if they rather go for baseball or simply want to play with friends on their free time.

Sugar Boots – Bitten by the Anime Bug

Monday, July 2nd, 2007
First came Akira, widely regarded as one of the finest works of Anime ever made. Then came the international crazes known as Pokémon and the sensory overloading Tamagochi. Now, a boots company in the west, Sugar Boots, brings you the latest colorful craze to emit from the Far East. Sugar Boots presents the “Origami Boot Camo”, an easy-on-the-eye yet thoroughly distinct boot, inspired by the art form that Japan made its own in the 80’s.

Bringing you the latest in trendy and artistically sophisticated footwear, Sugar Boots has, with this latest release, truly raised the bar in style and convenience, as well as keeping the stable and durable design that has cemented the status of Sugar Boots as a leading brand in shoes and boots. As with the cultural classics that it follows, the “Origami Boot Camo” is, with its special ‘Vulcanized’ rubber midsole and outsole, destined for longevity and popularity in your wardrobe. It’s camouflage pattern is highly versatile, easily adaptable to any outfit you want to wear, as well as being a striking pattern to find on footwear.

Sugar Boots – Leaders in Cultural Diversity

Sugar Boots are seemingly destined to be a sure-fire hit with a culturally diluted populous in the United Kingdom, and even more so in the United States of America, where Anime is on the verge of exploding into prominence. It seems that for Sugar Boots, the sky may very well be the limit. There may be some skepticism from critics and competition that Sugar Boots may be too outlandish or possibly even too generic compared to rival brands. One thing is certain, however. While Sugar Boots continue to dream up such idiosyncratic designs, then they will surely remain as a leader in cultural diversity in the footwear market.

Looking for Designer Jeans…

Monday, July 2nd, 2007
I have been looking for designer jeans at reasonable prices for quite sometime now. I have searched the entire San Diego area by car, bus and foot, no luck. I have been to the mall, I have searched outlets, browsed through magazines and bored myself to death while I was at it. I didn’t find any good deals on designer jeans, instead what I did find probably isn’t news to anyone, it is that none of the hot designer jeans out these days like to go on sale.

I can’t let myself spend $250 for a pair jeans that I will not be able to fit into after the 4th of July BBQ. So as my search for designer jeans was nearing an end, my friend suggested a new website called www.BuyandSellJeans.com. It was a dream come true and I want to pass it on to all of you!! This website site as every brand of jean you can think, all below retail prices. So if you are looking for designer jeans at great prices, I have the answer for you www.BuyandSellJeans.com. My favorite brands are now all in one place, I can get Citizens, Sevens, Hudsons,Lucky Brand, Levis and have them shipped to my house. So now that my search for designer jeans at low prices has ended, maybe I will start searching for those HOT handbags for less than retails. Maybe someone should start a Buy and Sell Handbags. I bet a Channel Bag would look great with my new Citizens!

Men’s Guide To Buying Lingerie

Monday, July 2nd, 2007

Now if you are like most men, you HATE shopping. My husband refuses to go clothes shopping for me. I have no idea why as I’m not very picky at all. *wink* Below you will find a great guide to buying the right kind of lingerie for that special woman in your life. There are lots of selections like baby dolls, cami sets, chemises, long gowns, and more! And if your woman is plus size, there is plenty of lingerie for her. And we all love a sale don’t we?

You know what is great about lingerie? You don’t even have to have a special occasion to buy it for her! We gals just plain like gifts! You just can’t go wrong! But, if you are the type man that needs a reason, there is a piece of lingerie for all the occasions in your diva’s life. Lingerie makes the perfect gift for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Honeymoon, and even Mother’s Day! And, if you’ve done something that you need to apologize for, what better way to say it than with an I’m Sorry Honey Chemise. And if that’s not her style, then there’s plenty of other sexy items for you to make that apology with.

Buying intimate items for your sweetie is a double standard gift. First of all, she gets something exquisite and secondly you get to see her in it! But now it’s time to you use your noggin’ a little. What type lingerie will she like? If she is modest, then I doubt very seriously she’ll ever wear a bustier or corset no matter how much you want to see her in it. You need to choose something that compliments her style like a gorgeous peignoirs. But, if she’s a more daring sex goddess type, then she would probably like a brassy teddy.

Let me explain what all of these words mean:

Chemise - A short nightgown made out of light material. Think mini sundress when you think of a chemise.

Baby Doll - Really short nightgown that hits at the top of the hip. Most tie at the bust so that the rest of the fabric floats away from the body. Most Baby Dolls have matching panties.

Teddy - Similar to a one piece bathing suit.

Bustier - Usually fasten in the back and accentuate the bust. Many bustiers have straps at the bottom that attach to thigh highs.

Corsets - Think of tighter bustiers. They have boning that goes over the bodice and laces or hooks in the back. Corsets generally are tight at the waist to give an hourglass effect but they can also be loosley laced and worn as a top.

Our next lesson is in size. How do you find out her size? Should you ask? Ummm … take it from me, that’s not a good idea. First of all it would spoil the surprise, and second of all you I doubt you’ll get the right answer. Us women folks tend to fib a bit when it comes to our weight and size. So, you are thinking, how on earth can I find out her size without asking? Well my dear friend, you snoop! First look in her underwear drawer and then move on to her closet. Didn’t know you had to be a detective to suprise your love did you? Believe me, she’ll appreciate it when she realizes the trouble you went to in finding this perfect gift. When you have this information, you can move to the next step of our little guide which is what color do I get this lovely article of clothing in?

When thinking about the color that you will buy, think about what she normally wears. Does she like pastel colors or bold colors? Me, I prefer the bolder colors while my business partner prefers pastels. Now you are getting the idea of how diverse women are aren’t you? Start paying attention to her wardrobe and getting an idea of what colors she wears. You really can’t go wrong with a Little Black Dress, but if you delve a bit deeper into her preferences, you might score more points in the long run. Here’s a little guide for you: blondes look better in pastels, brunettes look better in brighter, bold hues, and redheads look breathtaking in greens. If you still prefer to be on the safe side, white makes every skintone look flawless and ivory is a great choice for elegance.

Alternative Clothing from Its Inception in the 70’s to the Contemporary Style of Today

Monday, July 2nd, 2007
  • I have a long history of trying out alternative clothing, not content to follow the fashion police tribe, and their denim jeans and cargo pants. It’s not hard to understand then, how this once rebellious fashion trend, popularised by “hard core” punk bands of the 70’s and early 80’s, has grown in popularity.
  • Alternative punk fashion was the dress code of a music influenced urban punk subculture and was then considered rebellious and confrontational, a far cry from contemporary brands such as Addict an Iron Fist. A far cry from the days when punks and later Goths, bought their clothes from charity shops and thrift stores and wrote their slogans with a marker pen.
  • Vivienne Westwood, inspired by the punk phenomena, and using the influence to this day, of controversial images, patches, studded or plain leather jackets and tartan designs in her runway shows. These were traditional of the punk style and remain prevalent today, although the torn t-shirt and safety pin has taken a backseat. Bondage clothing, tapered jeans, and well worn, almost destroyed, leather trousers dominated the punk clothing scene as well.
  • Footwear for the alternative clothing scene embraced a selection of styles ranging from motorcycle boots (complete with buckles and steel toe caps) to combat boots and Doc. Martens.
  • With the advent of contemporary punk fashion there are various contemporary elements of style watered down from hardcore punk clothing, this type of fashion consists of jeans, ripped and customised, usually from top designers at top prices, or camos a hoodie, and a simple, screen printed, t-shirt with a flavour of rebellious anarchy.
  • The punk fashion scene since the advent of the original look in the 1970’s, has evolved into the mainstream, for better or worse, and since then clothing stores and even fashion designers have taken punk fashion to an entirely new level. It’s easy to see that this once controversial, rebellious fashion has now grown into a very popular style of dress.
  • Becoming A Fashion Designer

    Monday, July 2nd, 2007
When you dream as a child about what you want to be when you grow up, fashion designer ranks high on the list for many who envision a glamorous lifestyle and a chance to influence the way society dresses. Being a fashion designer certainly does come with its benefits; but it is also a career that requires a balance between creativity and skill.

We need only to turn on the television or flip the pages of a magazine to see how fashion influences our culture. The way we dress on a daily basis, the clothing we run to the stores to purchase, all depend on what’s popular on the runways. And what’s popular on the runways is created by fashion designers. A fashion designer creates a look and makes it happen. But what people don’t see, as models strut the runway wearing the latest designs, is the enormous amount of work and skill that it takes to get to that bright shining moment.

A fashion designer must not only be skilled in the manufacturing of clothing – including knowledge of textiles and expertise in sewing – but also in sketching and drawing their designs. The savvy fashion designer understands color and how to use it to capture the essence of their design.

Becoming a fashion designer means attending a reputable school that teaches design, sewing, textiles, and the like. It is imperative that you learn the fundamentals of design before you add your own creativity and flair. Even more important, however, is the working knowledge that you can gain working as an intern or apprentice in an established shop. Working alongside a fashion designer who can give you firsthand experiences and help you build your portfolio is incredibly important to becoming a fashion designer. It’s all about experience. So take all that you can from school but put your skills to use – everywhere and anywhere that you can. A strong portfolio that demonstrates your talent and desire to work in the industry will go a long way to helping you realize your dream of becoming a fashion designer.

The Power Of The Designer Handbag

    Monday, July 2nd, 2007
Just as designer dresses and shoes have become part of the red carpet scene, so has the designer handbag – used as a functional accessory but thought of as a fashion statement equal to anything else. A handbag may be merely a container for money and personal effects for some; but for others, the designer handbag is as much a part of their wardrobe as the pants, dresses, and blouses in their closet.

Today’s savvy and sophisticated shoppers will pay exorbitant amounts of money for a designer handbag – not just for its look but for the statement that it makes. Designers who have gotten into the business of creating handbags have found tremendous rewards both in financial return and impact on their reputation. With women, word-of-mouth is everything – and if your girlfriend has the hot new designer handbag then so must you.

This enormous popularity and media attention is a far cry from the early beginnings of the designer handbag. Handbags originated in the 14th century as a simple pouch used to hold coins and small items. But in the 1950s, as Chanel and Louis Vuitton rocketed to fame with well-received designs, the designer handbag took its place in the world of fashion. Designers who were worth their weight all made a designer handbag in order to capitalize on the popularity among women.

But before long, the designer handbag was setting the trends and holding its own as a piece of designer merchandise, separate from other design ware. Today’s designers – including Prada and Kate Spade - continue to introduce new and better bags and consumers wait for each signature designer handbag each season.

Of course, along with a designer label comes a designer price tag. Many people find the prices of these bags to be cost-prohibitive. But if you do some research and look around for clearance items you may be able to find a designer handbag that you love for a much lower price. Just be careful that you are purchasing the real deal and not an imposter handbag.

A designer handbag can be an amazing and lasting accessory that combines form and function in a unique way. Find a classic designer handbag that you love and treat yourself to a lifetime of enjoyment.

Whether it be for men or women, the loafer stands above the rest in comfort. This is a shoe that women and men can wear casual or dress up with a great pair of slacks or a suit.

For this time of year the most popular shoe is the flip flop. Coach flip flops are available to women and men is an array of styles and colors. For men there is the ever popular Signature flip flop or the mule. The mule covers the front part of the foot while leaving the back out to allow air into the shoe. These I see most often in warmer climate areas like Miami. Men wear their feet out all the time there.

For women, the flip flop is most commonly worn in the thong style or the wedge. These shoes can take you from day into night. They are very stylish and can be worn with just about anything. You can dress them up or wear them casual with a pair of shorts.

However you wear your Coach shoes you are sure to love the comfort and fit of the shoes. Pick yourself up a pair and show those feet of yours the comfort they deserve.
